The Labkotec LID-3300IP type 2 Ice Detectors have been especially designed for the artic and cold climate wind power plants and meteorological applications.
Even a thin ice layer on the wind turbine blades spoils the aerodynamics of the blade and cuts down the turbine production power with tens of percent.
Also, the costs of the maintenance are growing correspondingly.
The sensor of the LID-3300IP Ice Detectors utilizes ultrasonic principle that can detect the icing conditions within time intervals between heating and cooling of the special sensor wire.
The sensor signal is digitally controlled and within the pre-set limits the ice warning signal is given.
The LID-3300IP is easy to connect to wind turbine control systems using a relay 4-20 mA output, serial, or TCP/IP interface. Ice signal status, alarms and parameters can be monitored and adjusted through an inbuilt web user interface.
